Among the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' primary goals is the promotion of the Italian culture, language and science abroad. The IICs are not only the ideal meeting place for both Italian and foreign cultural operators, but they also represent a landmark for the Italian expatriate community while meeting the growing demand for Italian culture worldwide.
The IIC in Damascus, inaugurated in february 2000, has quickly risen to become a catalyst for cultural events in the Syrian capital as well as in the rest of the Country.
