The Festival of "Krak des Chevaliers"

The Festival “Krak des Chevaliers” began in 2005 and takes place every year between July and August in the province of Homs. This year, the sixth edition of the Festival, which will last for 15 days, will also include Italian participation. On July 22nd at 20:30, the Governorate of Homs and the city of Lucca, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Damascus, will organize the inauguration of the Festival "Krak des Chevaliers" (223 mile northwest of Damascus). A concert will take place on July 22nd at 20:30 at the amphitheatre of the Krak des Chevaliers. For the occasion, the Syrian Philharmonic Orchestra will be accompanied by Silvana Froli (soprano), Fabio Andreotti (tenor) and Marco Tomei (pianist). On July 23rd at 19:00, the inauguration of a media Forum will be held at the auditorium of Al Hawash University, with a panel discussion led by Ghassan Ben Gedo, a renowned journalist of Al Jazeera, on the "Mediterranean Cultural Dialogue". Top Syrian officials and representatives of the city of Lucca will take part in the panel discussion. On July 23rd at 20:00, a musical intermezzo by the soprano Silvana Froli will also take place in the auditorium of the University of Al Hawash.
