The exhibition Arab Artists between Italy and the Mediterranean Sea presented by the Italian Institute of Culture in Damascus and by Damascus Arab Capital of Culture 2008 - under the auspices of the League of Arab States - has been promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the framework of the event Mediterranean Crossroads.
The exhibition will present paintings/sculptures of Syrian, Lebanese and Egyptian artists. The artwork by each Arab artist is shown together with the artwork made by the Italian artist who has been his cultural and artistic point of reference, in order to present to the public “couples” or duos, which can easily and immediately show their similarity to everybody, not only scholars but also art lovers and general public.
The curators of the exhibition are Prof. Martina Corgnati and Dr. Saleh Barakat.
