“The Syrian desert – A cultural and natural heritage under threat”

Photographic Exhibition by the Italian photographer Gianluca Serra and the Syrian photographer Mahmud Sheick Abdallah

Under the Patronage of the First Lady, Asma al-Assad, the Photography Exhibition “The Syrian desert – A cultural and natural heritage under threat” by the Italian photograher Gianluca Serra and the Syrian photographer Mahmud Sheick Abdallah, has been presented thanks to the collaboration of the Italian Institute of Culture, the Danish Cultural Institute, the Embassy of Finland, The Ministry of Agriculture and the Bird Life International Association. The exhibition includes photos of some rare breed of birds called Ibis “Thoth” living near Palmira. The exhibition aims at the sensibilization of public opinions and monitoring of this endangered bird to prevent the extintion of the species
